Card Centering Calculator (PSA, BGS & CGC)
Measure the borders of your Pokémon, One Piece, sports or any trading card and this free card centering calculator shows its centering ratio, front and back, and which PSA grade range that centering fits.
How to measure centering
- Scan or photograph the card straight on, without angle.
- Measure the left, right, top and bottom borders: with a ruler in millimetres, or in pixels in any photo app.
- Enter the numbers. The calculator shows the larger border as a percentage of the total, for example 60/40.
What centering do graders want?
PSA’s published standards ask for roughly 55/45 to 60/40 centering on the front and about 75/25 on the back for a Gem Mint 10, with looser limits for lower grades. BGS and CGC have their own, similar scales. Centering is only one part of a grade: corners, edges and surface matter too.
Keep cards you plan to grade in a sleeve and toploader: see card protection.

FAQ
What does 60/40 centering mean?
It means one border takes up 60% of the total border width on that axis and the opposite border 40%. Perfect centering is 50/50.
Can I use pixels instead of millimetres?
Yes. Only the proportion between opposite borders matters, so any unit works as long as you use the same unit for both sides.
